We enjoyed lots of hands on activities during Maths lessons including number work with Numicon and exploring the measures strand. We discussed water safety in PE and we made aquariums with shoe boxes in Art. We also discussed the Solar System in Geography and we made Solar System models. We went to Ennis Gymnastics Club with the Willow and Sycamore Room for our school trip. We had great fun and we were delighted when we stopped for ice cream as a surprise on the way home. We enjoyed a trip to the playground and we stopped off at a local farm on our way home to see some goats. We love using chalk in the yard during break time. Well done to the three children in the Acorn Room who cycled to school as part of Bike Week and won a €250 Central Sports voucher for the school.

Integrated Learning Through Play
Our 'Integrated Learning Through Play' theme for May was 'Holidays/Camping'. Stations included socio-dramatic, creative, small world, sand/water, construction and literacy. We made items associated with summer with playdough. We took on the role of a scout and explored what is involved in camping. We enjoyed playing with sand and we built our own holiday resorts. We also dressed our class teddy bear 'Ted' for a holiday in the sun, snow and for a swimming trip. We also had a literacy station in our classroom and children were invited to cut, glue, write and draw about the theme.

April
We enjoyed lots of practical, hands on maths activities including exploring length with concrete materials during the month of April. We also enjoyed some yummy pizza from Tasty Bites, Mullagh as a reward for best class attendance. Thank you to Ms. Blake for organising this.
Integrated Learning Through Play
Our 'Integrated Learning Through Play' theme for April was 'Homes'. Stations included socio-dramatic, creative, small world, sand/water, construction and literacy. The children made items associated with homes with playdough. They built different types of homes with blocks and sand and they role played different activities that take place in the home. We also had a literacy station in our classroom and children were invited to cut, glue, write and draw about the theme.
